Four pages for 18 December: a certificate with a box for the child's name in Arabic, an 'I love Arabic' poster to colour, a write-your-name and letter-hunt sheet, and Arabic words and facts to trace.
What is on the pages
- A certificate for World Arabic Language Day, with a line for the child's name and a box where they write it in Arabic.
- An 'I love Arabic' (أحبّ العربية) poster in big outlined letters to colour, with stars and a crescent to decorate and a tracing row underneath.
- A 'my name in Arabic' sheet — a grown-up writes it, the child traces it, then writes it alone — plus a letter hunt: ten ب hidden among look-alike letters.
- Four short facts about Arabic, three everyday words to trace (language, hello, thank you), and a box to draw a favourite Arabic word.
How to use it
In a classroom, hand out the three activity pages through the morning and keep the certificate for last — writing their name in Arabic on it is the moment the day is about.
At home, the name sheet is the one to start with. Children want to see their own name in a new script more than any other word, and a grown-up who does not read Arabic can copy the name from a phone keyboard or ask a relative.
Pair it with our Arabic Language Day guide for ten more activities, from a letter hunt around the house to a family 'Arabic only' dinner.
Questions
When is World Arabic Language Day?
Every year on 18 December. The United Nations chose the date because on 18 December 1973 the UN General Assembly made Arabic one of its official languages.
Does my child need to read Arabic to use the pack?
No. The poster and the letter hunt work for complete beginners, and every Arabic word is shown with its transliteration and English meaning. The name sheet only needs a grown-up to write the name once.
Can I print it for a whole class or school event?
Yes — print as many copies as you need for a class, a school assembly or a weekend school. We only ask that you do not sell the file or host it elsewhere as your own.
